EARLY LEARNING CENTER ADMINISTRATION & FACULTY​

Amie Williams is the Director of SJV Early Learning Center.  She has worked in preschool for 35 years, 28 have been here at SJV.  Amie came to SJV in the summer of 1994 as the assistant director and became the director in 2002.  She holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

​Dana Sunseri is the Assistant Director of SJV ELC.  She has worked at St. Jean Vianney for 30 years; first as a Kindergarten teacher, then as a 4 and 5-year-old teacher. She has been an administrator for the past 19 years. She has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.

Cecile Martin is the Office Administrator for the SJV ELC.  She has worked at St. Jean Vianney Early Learning Center for 15years.  She has taught 2, 4 and 5 year olds for 10 years, and has been Office Administrator for the past 5 years.  She has a B.S. in Management from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL).

Red Gators

Sherri Carlos  is our Red Gator teacher. She has been teaching at SJV ELC for 16 years.  She studied at the University of New Orleans, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies, and also obtained certification as a Paralegal.   She is also an After care teacher this year.

Purple Gators

Andrea Freeman is our purple gator teacher. This will be her fourth year as a teacher at SJV ELC. After taking a year off to homeschool her own children, she is very excited to get back into the classroom where she has worked with both the three-and four-year-old age groups as lead teacher. Andrea has three children ranging from the oldest entering 8th grade and the youngest starting Kindergarten. She has also completed more than half of the required credit hours to receive her Child Development Associate Credential. She is looking forward to meeting new smiling faces and exploring many more places in her Adventures Around the World themed classroom!

Blue  Gators

Tammy Calvaruso is our Blue  Gator Teacher! She has worked at SJV ELC for 12 years in various teaching positions. She has an associate’s degree in Child Development. She has two beautiful daughters and a precious grandson. She is also a Morning Care Teacher this year.

Susan Walsh is the Blue Gator Assistant. She is a mom of 2 grown children and has 2 beautiful granddaughters.  She loves working with children and has done so for many years.  She has taught preschoolers at Parkview Baptist Preschool, Cypress Heights Academy, and Alfred G Rayner Learning Center.  

Green Gators

 Kristin Koger is a Green Gator Teacher beginning in October on MWF. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University. She is the mother of three amazing daughters, all of whom she homeschooled for a total of 10 years. She simply adores children, and she feels it is a privilege to love and teach them.

  Kelee Vignes will be one of our Green Gator teachers from 12-4 MWF.  She was born and raised in Baton Rouge with 3 adult children! She was a medical Assistant for over 30 years with experience in pediatrics and ENT. Prior to this she was in early childhood education. Most recently she has held her greatest position of being a full time grandmother. Since her granddaughter started kindergarten this year, she is ready to get back to her roots of early childcare. She is looking forward to spending time and working with our young ones!

Bailey Sunseri is a Green Gator teacher on MWF.  She is a graduate of SJVELC, SJV Elementary, and St. Michael High School. She is currently at LSU studying Communication Disorders.  She loves children and has several years of experience in the childcare setting. This is her second year at SJVELC. She is also one of our After Care Teachers.

Cherie Payer will be our Green Gator teacher on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She has taught at SJVELC for many years. Her children also attended our program. She is wonderful, nurturing teacher who enjoys children!  We are so excited to have her back with us this year.

Samantha Ferrara will be our other Green Gator teacher on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is a graduate of SJVELC as well as SJV school and St. Michael High School. She graduated from Southeastern University in May with a Degree in Communication Disorders. She will be attending Graduate School in the Fall. She is also one of our Morning Care Teachers.  We are so happy to have her with us this year!

Yellow Gators

Emily Coco is our Yellow Gator Teacher again this year. She is a graduate of LSU in Psychology and is attending Graduate School at LSU in the fall. She loves our babies and we are so lucky to have her with us again this year! She will also be an After Care teacher on Thursdays.

Before / After Care & Substitute Teachers

Carly Williams is one of our morning care teachers. Carly is a recent graduate of  BRCC.  She plans to continue her education at Southeastern University studying anthropology. Carly began her educational journey here at SJV ELC and is thrilled to be back as a teacher.

Denise Summerell is a substitute teacher at SJV ELC. She has worked at St. Jean Vianney since 2009 starting out as an Extended Care teacher, then a substitute for the preschool and finally as the religion teacher and floater for the 4-year old classes. Denise has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish from Southeastern Louisiana University. She is a native of New Orleans and  a diehard Saints Fan since 1966 when New Orleans was awarded the NFL franchise.
